National Sales Manager - East
Are you looking to join a sales team with a goal to double revenue in four years? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment? This opportunity may be what you are looking for. Butterball Farms, Inc, is currently seeking a highly motivated results oriented National Sales Manager with proven sales results to join our growing organization. Location can be home based in the Midwest with easy access to an airport or based in Grand Rapids, MI. Qualified applicants will be responsible for creating a professional and customer-centric impression that reflects our company mission and values.
Essential responsibilities will include:
- Lead strategy and tactics for profitable growth through sales efforts with national distributors
- Field leadership via broker driven programming to meet sales revenue and margin targets
Develop long-term multi-functional customer relationships - Provide category management leadership at corporate and local OpCos including design of marketing and shelter programs increasing compliance with products
- Increase number of distributors that view company as leader in product category
- Develop innovative new products with customers
- Develop and present national proposals to improve overall sales performance
- Organize and attend trade shows
- Explore various sources to gain insight to market trends
- Participate in company initiatives and teams
- Initiative and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Responsible for growing total annual volume, top line sales and gross profit dollars

The attributes and experience that are desired:
Understand food broker programs
Experience working with key distributors
Proven sales and service success in food products industry selling on value
Current contacts with food service and major retailers
Proven ability to develop strong, long-term customer relationships to exceed customer expectations
Ability to travel up to 50%
Knowledge of food industry, distribution, retailing and manufacturing
Strong project management
Minimum of two years experience successfully selling to key accounts in food service and retail industry
- Experience developing and presenting innovative business cases/presentations and identifying opportunities to purchasing, marketing and R&D
- Honest and ethical
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- Prefer experience selling to retail and chains
