Butterball® Farms, America’s leading provider of shaped and flavored butters, has earned a prestigious award for the company’s innovative business acuteness and human resource practices.
The Best and Brightest Companies to Work For® is awarded each year by the National Association Of Business Resources (NABR) to companies around the country. The association notes that only one in ten companies meet the award’s exacting standards, especially those who demonstrate innovative employee engagement. This is the 11th consecutive year the company has received this honor.
Jennifer Kluge, President and CEO of NABR and the Best & Brightest Programs, emphasized that “these companies have excelled by prioritizing their workplace culture. By putting their employees first, this exceptional group of top-tier leaders has created a strong foundation that sets them apart as leaders in their industries and communities.”
Mark Peters, CEO of Butterball Farms, has built a workplace culture that makes employment an enjoyable and integrated part of life—one rooted in support, opportunity, and purpose. Through The Source, a non-profit founded by Peters, participating employers—including Butterball Farms—are equipped with best-in-class community resources to help employees navigate unforeseen or challenging times. By eliminating systemic barriers to employment, such as transportation or housing issues, a pathway for both economic and personal well–being is created.
Peters is also the author of THE SOURCE, a book that outlines a transformative model for workforce support. His upcoming release, The Retention Trap: Stop Measuring Turnover, Start Measuring Talent Investment (Post Hill Press, publishing June 3, 2025), challenges outdated views on employee retention, offering a forward-thinking framework that positions talent investment as a strategic business asset. In addition to his writing, Peters is an active speaker who motivates and inspires business leaders across industries.
“We may bring flavor and elegance to the table, but we don’t stop there. Our mission at Butterball Farms is to Enrich Lives. Through initiatives like The Source, we invest in our customers, employees, and broader community,” says Peters. “Innovating ways to do exactly that is my passion. On behalf of the whole team, we appreciate the recognition of the NABR’s prestigious award.”
Butterball Farms was formally recognized at a ceremony recognizing Western Michigan companies earning the award in May 2025.
